Best Headlamps Australia 2024

Mottorch ended up being leagues ahead of all the headlamps we tried. It passed all our tests with flying colors, including the most important ones – delivering both incredible brightness and battery life.

Many of Mottorch’s fantastic benefits are due to its new features, which have never been seen in a headlamp of this kind until now. All the other brands out there need to take note – this is the next-gen tech we need for 2024.

Using the latest advances in LED technology, its CREE LED strip is able to blast out a sustained 1200 lumens over a wide, 230 degree field of view, lighting up far more terrain than we’ve ever seen from a headlamp of its kind before.

Under controlled testing, Mottorch was 2.5x brighter than the next best headlamp – delivering power bright enough to illuminate an entire football field. But what makes it even more impressive, is that even when used at maximum brightness, battery life was among the best we tested. Which is incredible considering how lightweight it is and how quick it is to recharge. You’d usually have to carry around a bulky, large handheld flashlight to get a combination of power and battery life this good, which is testament to the technology inside.

From camping trips with friends to extreme outdoor expeditions, to walking the dog or night-time runs, Mottorch was the most convenient headlamp we used in whichever situation we needed it. And what’s more, it’s hands-free motion sensors make it incredibly easy to use. With the mode activated, you simply need to wave your hand over the side sensor, and Mottorch turns on or off immediately without any lag. It’s ideal for when you’ve got your hands full or are out for a run.

With a 230° field of view, Mottorch is tremendously practical, illuminating your entire field of view to give you a perfect assessment of what’s in front of you. But it also offers up numerous other practical modes to use in a range of situations, offering a pinpoint intense light beam when you need to focus on one thing in particular, or a low-level light mode for reading at night or navigating a tent or campsite. It really feels like they’ve thought of everything here.

Of course, all those functions would be useless if the build quality was flimsy, but thankfully they’ve taken a leaf out of the military playbook, creating a tactical headlamp that’s built to withstand pretty much whatever you throw at it. With full IP6 waterproofing & impact resistance, you can use Mottorch in a range of extreme conditions. From torrential rain to knocks, drops and everything in-between, Mottorch kept on shining long after every other device had failed on us. It’s little surprise when it’s built to last for 50,000 hours.

Considering all the above, what shocked us most about Mottorch headlamp was the price. We assumed it would be prohibitively expensive with all the features it packed in, so when we saw just how affordable it is, we were blown away. And considering it comes with a no-risk 30 day money back guarantee, it’s a no brainer.

If you want the best headlamp on the market that delivers incredible brightness, battery life and durability – Mottorch is our number one choice.
